  • Swell analysis

An east-bound Tasman low supplies us with a steady run of small SSE to SE swell throughout the remainder of the working week.

Short-Term Analysis (through Thursday 26 November)

Wednesday: Smaller, reinforcing SSE/SE swell sees much improved conditions. Expect slow sets ranging from waist to head-high across the most exposed open beaches, with scope for a little more size and consistency showing into the afternoon/ evening. Early light and variable winds see improving quality in the morning before it deteriorates as they turn east to NE and freshen up to 10-20 knots in the arvo.

Thursday: Second reinforcing pulse of ESE/SE swell fills in during the day, lighting up open beaches in the head-high range and occasionally bigger at SE swell-magnets. Initially clean beneath early light NW/NNW winds, before deteriorating as they turn north in the morning, then moderate to fresh NE up to 10-20 knots in the afternoon.

Long Term Analysis (Thursday 26 November and beyond)
