The surf heights forecasted for Gold Coast

Please consider your local spots specific orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell in relation to this regional forecast.

  • Swell analysis

    Summary
Leftover east and south swells bottom out across the region on Saturday, ahead of a steady building trend in directional SSW swell setting in across the region on Sunday. This initial increase favours far northern NSW coasts, glancing the region with spreading, short-period south swell, while mostly by-passing locations north of Byron Bay.

That's backed up by a stronger pulse of mid-period south swell across the region on Sunday; holding good potential for strong, 6ft+ conditions across far northern NSW exposed coasts, while wrapping to produce a myriad of smaller options elsewhere. That sets the trend for most of the working week.
