STORM FORCE WIND WARNING
Please be aware, wind gusts can be a further 40 percent stronger than the
averages given here, and maximum waves may be up to twice the height.
SITUATION
At 0600 UTC Tropical Cyclone Marian was centred within 30 nautical miles of
latitude eighteen decimal nine south (18.9S)
longitude ninety one decimal three east (91.3E)
Recent movement : east southeast at 6 knots
Maximum winds : 50 knots
Central pressure: 987 hPa
AREA AFFECTED
Within 130 nautical miles in NE quadrant
and within 160 nautical miles in SE quadrant
and within 130 nautical miles in SW quadrant
and within 130 nautical miles in NW quadrant.
FORECAST
Maximum winds to 50 knots near the centre easing to 45 knots by 0600 UTC 04
March.
Winds above 48 knots until 0000 UTC 04 March within 70 nautical miles in NE
quadrant
and within 70 nautical miles in SE quadrant,
and within 70 nautical miles in SW quadrant,
and within 70 nautical miles in NW quadrant of the centre. Very rough to high
seas and moderate to heavy swell.

TROPICAL CYCLONE INFORMATION BULLETIN
Issued at 2:56 pm WST on Wednesday 3 March 2021
Tropical Cyclone Marian (Category 2) was located at 2:00 pm AWST near 18.9S
91.3E, that is 950 km southwest of Cocos Island and moving east southeast at 11
kilometres per hour.
Tropical Cyclone Marian is expected to continue gradually weakening and track
to the southeast over the central Indian Ocean.
The next Information Bulletin will be issued at 9 pm AWST.
