THIS WEEK IN SURFING and... A Bellringer

Arranged by Mike Jennings

Can you feel that? That air? That familar fresh feeling Autumn brings to us all. Temperature cooling, crowds thinning, the surf perhaps starting to pump a little more but the sun still shinging all the same? Great isn't it. The Australian leg of the World Tour is over, and with its departure the glits and glamour of surfing in Australia falls away and is replaced by the romance of it all: cold mornings, winter camping trips, and much much better waves (in some parts of the country anyway). What's that got to do with the week just past? Dunno, but let's take a look at the top 10 things that surfing brought to the internet regardless.

The crowd walks through the Bells carpark on dawn in anticipation of another day at the Rip Curl Pro.

1. Bells!

Yes. Bells Happened. The Rip Curl Pro at Bells happened and for the third year in a row it ran exclusively at Bells (rather than Winki or Johanna or...) which guaranteed it's awesomeness. Adriano won the Men's. Carissa the Girl's. Next stop Brazi, but before then here are some things from the Rip Curl Pro, like a flip-book, a gallery, some videos. Enjoy.

2. Wayne Lynch

Speaking of Victoria, just how incredibly good does this Wayne Lynch documentary look? One of surfing's most interesting storiesand greatest proponents of the rebellious values of surfing. Awesome, so awesome! It tours the US, Europe and Australia May to July this year.

3. John John's Australia

Oh would you look at that, John John released a clip and surprise surprise it is incredible.

4. Fanning In Europe

A clip put together from last year's offcuts while filming for Rip Curl… Mick is the man!

5. The Fantastic Mr. Heywood

One of Coastalwatch's favourite photographers stayed at La Casa and took photos and stuff. A great insight to a great photog. Heywood = legend.

6. Mikey Wright Joins The Weet Bix Team

The youngest of the Wright clan continues his rise to stardom by signing a mainstream sponsorship. Your new face of Weet Bix is a young surfer. Cool.

7. Night Surfing at Keramas

Komune Beach Resort at Keramas delivers night surfing. Interesting. Starring Bruce Irons and Brent Dorrington.

8. The Barrel

Introducing, The Barrel. Check out the site and get your entry in over here... "It's like being inside a waterfall!"

9. North To Noosa

The Deus crew put together a sweet little series on their journey to the Noosa Festival of Surfing and the Joel Tudor Duct Tape Invitational. We dig.

10. Sterling Spencer

Benji Weatherly co-stars in another off-beat surf clip from surfing's own Bill Murray, Sterling Spencer. Hooray for Sterling. Have a good weekend. CW out.
