Western Australia's Mid-Week Swell Boom

The Coastalwatch Wave Tracker shows the high wave period intervals on Tuesday
COASTALWATCH | SWELL DIARY
Story by Coastalwatch Western Australian Surf Reporter, Dan Wyer
As predicted the swell came in strong on Tuesday morning. Wave heights varied across the coast due to the southern angle of the swell. Exposed deep water reefs were pulling in solid sets within the 10-12ft range, while protected bays saw refracted wave energy within the 4-6ft range. The Cape Naturaliste buoy reading came in at 4.3m at 14seconds early in the day with a gradual decrease throughout the day.
Winds held favourable from the east - NE throughout the morning before a light afternoon sea breeze created some bump. Great to see some swell right up and down the coastline.

The swell now moves across to South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania. Check out how it's tracking on the Coastalwatch WAVE TRACKER or see your local forecast.
