On Saturday March 14th SurfAid will celebrate 20 years of giving, 20 years of helping remote communities since Dr Dave Jenkins made his first surf trip to the Mentawai Islands. We are honoured to be hosting this special event at the iconic Manly venue, the ICMS, on the final night of the WSL Sydney Pro. SurfAid is delighted to invite our guests to enjoy a seated multi-course dinner inspired by Indonesian cuisine provided by Tathra Place Free Range Farm, served with free-flowing Balter beer and welcome cocktails by VILLA Vodka.

Speaking at the event will be SurfAid Founder, Dr. Dave Jenkins.  “Reflecting upon the last 20 years, I remember the quote that helped nudge me into action after that first makeshift clinic at HTs Katiet Village late in 1999. 'Life's most persistent and urgent question is: 'What are you doing for others?' Today we can all stand proud of our extraordinary achievements in answering this question and I thank all our donors, staff, volunteers, board members, and unsung heroes who have so effectively supported our mission. I look forward to celebrating with you and to the next 20 years."

“In celebration of our 20th year, SurfAid will be hosting several events to help us continue to develop and build our programs. This celebration dinner will be incorporated as part of the Sydney Surf Pro event at Manly, and I encourage everyone to come along for a fantastic night in support of SurfAid’s 20 years of impact.” – Doug Lees, CEO SurfAid

“As SurfAid enters its 20th year since inception, we have much to celebrate. What we have achieved since that first year in 2000 born of hope and imagination - backpacking mosquito nets to a few isolated villages in the outermost islands of the Mentawais - is truly remarkable. Our mission holds strong and we remain true to our roots in working with people in remote areas connected to us through the great sport of surfing." – Steve Hathaway, Chair
