Mid Feb Swell

This Summer season has been mostly a pretty mellow affair with lots of waves in the 2-4ft range and a very consistent run of swell. However this month, it has kicked into top grear and the latest offering has come off an East Coast low that spun off the Central Queensland Coast last weekend. It has tracked its way south off the coast during the week and a very solid Easterly swell was experienced on the Gold Coast from Tuesday. The winds were strong from the SSE  and there were plenty of rain squalls, but there were some very rewarding waves to be on the outer banks of the points.

Jet ski assist was the way to go to handle the amount of water moving around and Kirra was the pick although there were sessions going down at Currumbin Alley and beachfront and even some adventurous individuals paddling and taking some very solid beachies south of Elephant Rock at Currumbin.
