Clean. Perfect. August.

Strong south winds persisted throughout the Mentawai chain during late July and well into August, (See Also Typhoon Diarieshowever standout locations that are hidden amongst the vast number of breaks held their own and delivered plenty of fun 3-4ft waves every day.

2015 has proven to be a hit and miss for some punters who made the journey to Indonesia this year, with only one major standout swell delivering some scary tubes at Kandui and all the well known spots.

Luckily Macaronis is one of the many few waves that can handle all winds, swell size and direction, and during early August with a medium sized SW swell and light SE to variable winds, the place would pump for a select number of crew who were booked into the resort and a few boats that were hanging around.

During early August there was a super fun and dominant SW pulse in the swell with perfect blue skies, not a breathe of wind and perfect 3-5 ft tubes on the menu for 3-4 days.

There was also a run of clean, fun days in the middle of the month, and of course the second biggest swell of the season post Muzza hit late in the month.
