"These are the people that Jack O'Neill developed the brand for way back at inception."

THE O’RIGINALS series from O’Neill is back! Three mini-docos on young surfers doing things their own way, examining the influence surfing has had on their lives. The third and final ep of the three new O’RIGINALS introduces us to Max Weston.

Max Weston might be the most “original” surfer we’ve seen in this series yet. A talented longboarder from Sydney, Max’s day job is as a chemical and bimolecular engineer. The guy is working on developing "nanoparticle biosensors" for food and health that could change the way we look at and use use-by dates forever… wild stuff. “I guess most people that I surf with don’t actually know what I do,” he says.

Max also happens to be 25th on the WSL’s World Longboard Tour rankings, just outside the bubble of qualifying for the Longboard World Champs, but his take on how surfing plays a part in his life is spoken with an illuminating clarity rarely seen from a young surfer. It's fascinating stuff.
