COASTALWATCH | BEST OF THE WEB

This Hawaiian winter marks the tenth year for Surfline and O'Neill's Wave of the Winter – a now prestigious award and honour accorded to the best wave ridden on the North Shore of Oahu during this time when the world of surfing descends on that fame stretched of beach.

There's been some absolute doozies over the years, but naturally, the surfers in the running for what will be called the 4ocean Wave of the Decade are the nine past year winners, from 2011 to 2018, plus whoever wins this year's one. Said winner will take home a cool $10,000. Not bad.

You can see all of those waves in the vid above, but for list's sake, here they are again:

2011 – Kalani Chapman
2012 – Reef McIntosh
2013 – Ricardo Dos Santos
2014 – Kelly Slater
2015 – Jamie O’Brien
2016 – Mikey O’Shaughnessy
2017 – Koa Rothman
2018 – Nathan Florence
2019 – Keito Matsouka
2020 – ?

Who's your pick?
